Greenlink plans to establish a direct bus route from downtown Greenville to the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport.
A new $3.3 million federal grant awarded to the Greenville Transit Authority will help make this plan a reality. The grant will be used to purchase four new compressed natural gas buses for the Greenlink SkyConnect: Better Service, Unlimited Destination project.
Greenlink Director James Keel said the Greenlink SkyConnect project aims to expand transit access, improve regional mobility and offer a sustainable transportation option linking the city to the airport. A conceptual GSP connector route was first identified in Greenlink’s 2021 Transit Development Plan and further studied by the Upstate Mobility Alliance in 2024.
