RAPIDES PARISH, La. (KALB) - A woman from Flatwoods was arrested in connection with two separate fires that happened on her property, according to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Destiny Mitchell, 36, was arrested for aggravated arson on November 29 after SFM’s investigation.
The Flatwoods Police Department responded to a fire at 9:16 a.m. on November 22 to a house fire in the 2200 block of Highway 8. This was the second fire at the location within a week. Neighbors said they had “significant life-safety concerns” citing fire and anxiety from the repeated events.
SFM determined that Mitchell intentionally set the fire.
