TOPEKA, Kan. (KAKE) – The Kansas Highway Patrol has released its activity report for the Thanksgiving holiday period, including 19 DUI arrests.

This year's report shows an increase in DUI arrests- up six from last year- and child restraint citations compared to last year. The number of speed warnings issued and safety belt warnings decreased.

The reporting period for the holiday ran from 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025.

The Kansas Highway Patrol worked one fatal non-DUI related crash involving one non-DUI related fatality over the holiday reporting period. The fatal crash occurred in Finney County.

The patrol assisted 882 motorists during the holiday reporting period.
