DEKALB, Ill. — A proposed data center in DeKalb just got more support.
The data center, which was said not to require water for cooling or put stress on the electric grid, was recommended for approval by DeKalb's Planning and Zoning Commission.
The Commission voted all in favor on Monday to recommend the annexation, rezoning, development plan, building elevations, and final plat map for the Edged development by Endeavor Energy. The approval came after the Edged team gave a presentation on innovations in cooling and power that would be used to reduce the project's effect.
The center would be built in parts. Two buildings would be built northeast of Keslinger Road and Route 23, and two buildings would be northwest of that intersection.
