TRAVERSE CITY — The Salvation Army of Traverse City received a $100,000 donation this Giving Tuesday that will go toward matching community donations in the month of December.
Sue Brown, director of community resource development for Salvation Army Traverse City, says that the charity is grateful for the support.
Salvation Army has operated in Traverse City for over 130 years and feeds more than 15,000 people per year.
Brown highlighted Salvation Army’s Teen Angel program, which seeks to grant the wishlists of 150 teens in the Traverse CIty area.
The program was created by Ruth Blick, who was president of Salvation Army Traverse City before she passed away last year.
