Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools leadership addressed its winter weather decisions Tuesday after frustrated families questioned why students were in class Monday.

In a letter posted on the district's Website, superintendent Anna Stubblefield touched on the frustration parents felt and explained the timeline behind the district’s winter weather decisions. Advertisement

“I want to start by saying this clearly: we hear you,” Stubblefield wrote. “When winter weather affects school, it affects everyone. It impacts students’ safety, families’ routines and work, and staff members’ ability to travel and serve our children. Your feelings are valid, and your voices matter.”
