'We're not going to let her just disappear' | Girl cremated by family of woman charged with her death, biological family speaks out

MUSKEGON, Mich. —

Just days after 11-year-old Mialah Leak was allegedly killed by her adoptive mother , Sherry Leak, her biological grandfather says Leak’s family cremated her.

“I was floored by it, because her body was cremated. So fast, it's so quick. It's a quick process,” David Lee Jones said.

Sherry Leak has been accused of sitting on Mialah for a long enough period of time that the 11-year-old girl stopped breathing. It happened on Nov. 23 in Clover Estates Mobile Home Park in Fruitport Township.
