OMAHA, Neb. —

Made New Makerspace is Jim Clements' life.

"I talked to my wife. I said, 'Hey, what would you think if I quit my job, cashed out my life savings, used that to start a nonprofit where I probably wouldn't make any money for the first half decade?'" Clements, executive director of Made New, said. "When she didn't immediately kill me, I knew it was meant to be."

After nearly eight years of hard work, he is at risk of losing all of it.

"This year, compared to last year, we have a $25,000 difference in donations," Clements said.

The organization provides resources to low-income students throughout the Omaha area.
