PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) — The Providence woman who hit and killed an elderly woman in Providence back in October of 2023 was sentenced on Tuesday.

30-year-old Caitlin Kelly was sentenced to three years in prison.

According to police, Kelly was driving on North Main Street when she hit 85-year-old Vanda Makovetsky with her car, and continued to drive.

According to police, surveillance footage and text messages confirm that Kelly was aware she had struck the woman and knowingly left the scene.
