CHARDON, Ohio — A Chardon man who crashed his vehicle, broke into a neighbor’s home with a gun and fired multiple shots during a 2024 incident in the Burlington Oval condominium complex was sentenced Monday to 13 years in prison.
Jack R. Scott, 62, received the sentence after pleading guilty in September to aggravated burglary, discharge of a firearm over or near prohibited premises and a firearm specification, according to Geauga County Common Pleas Court records.
Scott this week was also ordered to pay about $2,500 in restitution to a neighbor.
The sentence stems from a Dec. 1, 2024 incident in which Scott, who lived in the same condominium development, crashed his vehicle into a tree and then forced his way into a nearby residence while armed, police said at the time.
