Old Dominion still plans to play every 2026 home game at Ellmer Family Baseball Complex at TowneBank Field, even though the renovation of the park won’t be completed in time.
The school said it will install temporary seating that will accommodate nearly 1,000 fans. Most of them will be over the left-field fence.
The seating area will include food trucks, beverage stations and a party lounge tent with TVs that will show game broadcasts. There will also be a standing-room railing where fans can watch games from above left field.
Some unavoidable construction delays have set back renovation plans, including storm-water retention and utility lines running underneath the stadium that had to be moved.
