In his column titled, “ Welcome to the labyrinth of Trump’s policies on the cost of living ” in the Nov. 28 Forum section, Ramesh Ponnuru laments the seeming paradox of President Donald Trump’s policies on the economy given some of his contradictory actions.
This presumes that strategic thinking is taking place. If Ponnuru were more clear-eyed about the man 77.3 million Americans were misled into voting for in November 2024 (the most charitable view), he would see a bigoted, bloviating narcissist with insatiable greed, the mindset of a schoolyard bully and the impulse control of a 2-year-old. There are no “policies,” only whims and tantrums.
