Nineteen turnovers would mark a loss for a lot of teams, but for the University of Toledo women’s basketball team, it’s just a sign of growth.
The Rockets defeated Morgan State 79-66 on Tuesday at Savage Arena in a contest that featured 35 total turnovers and 41 fouls.
Toledo coach Ginny Boggess said with all of the new players, especially in the post, part of the process will be valuing every possession.
“I think it just says that we're growing up,” Boggess said. “It was a really good effort, top to bottom, and our leader stepped up and led when we needed her to.”
That leader, junior guard Kendall Carruthers, scored her highest point total in a Toledo uniform (27) on 10 of 13 shooting — five shy of her overall career high of 32 she had against Wagner as a member of Saint Francis durin
