LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Volunteers worked Tuesday night to prepare more than 200 bikes for Operation Secret Santa’s annual Christmas distribution to area children.
The nonprofit hosted its “Bike Night” event where volunteers cleaned and repaired donated bikes that will be given to children in central Kentucky.
“The holidays is an important time because there are so many people that don’t have as much so we want to be able to contribute to that,” said Mary Jenkins, a volunteer.
Jenkins, who works at Triton International testing software, volunteered alongside her colleagues for the third consecutive year. She said the local focus of the organization makes it special.
