The Indiana House Republican Caucus released a draft Monday of the state’s new congressional district map — just five hours before the body met to consider adoption of the proposal. As expected, the new map is contrived to dilute Black and brown communities in Marion and Lake counties.
So much for perfection — which is what the 2021 map was called by Republican leaders. If passed this week, the Senate should refuse to ratify this appalling plan that even well-established Republicans like former Gov. Mitch Daniels called distasteful and anti-democratic.
