INDIANAPOLIS — Every Sunday, you can find Anthony Ventura at Presidents Place Park in downtown Indianapolis , where he serves a hot meal for people he knows who need it most.
"All the funding being cut and stuff like that, like I said, it's important to have a good community behind you and stuff like that because it gets pretty expensive with the forks, plates, and all the utensils and stuff that we have to get every week, so when I do have a good community of people behind me, it makes it a lot easier to continue," Ventura said.
Ventura started his nonprofit BigHomie Foundation serving meals to the homeless only a year ago because he was also without a place to call home at one point.
