The 2025-26 boys and girls fencing season is going to look different.
According to the NJSIAA boys and girls fencing regulations posted on Nov. 25, it has been revealed that there will be no district championship tournaments this season.
Instead, teams will be classified into a North section and a South section, and the top 16 teams in each section will qualify for the team championship based on their 12 best power-pointed matches by the cut off date, which is February 7, 2026.
“The new qualification standards were made to increase the number of teams that qualify for the team championship,” NJSIAA Director of Fencing, Al Stumpf said.
