Ben Hayon made nine saves in Old Bridge’s 3-0 season-opening shutout win over Southern at the Old Bridge Ice Arena.

The clean sheet was the first of Hayon’s career.

Senior Nicholas Gallo started the scoring for the Knights (1-0) and finished with a goal and an assist. Dylan Vislocky also recorded a goal and an assist while Gregory Moreno also found the back of the net.

Garrett Johnson made 32 saves for the Rams (0-1).

The win also marked the first victory for new Old Bridge coach Mick Messemer. Messemer earned over 100 victories in nine seasons coaching for St. John Vianney.
