Liam Magovern, Nate Danyo and Brady Verdon each scored to lead Toms River South-East to a 3-1 win over Rumson-Fair Haven at Winding River Park in Toms River.
Magovern put TRE (1-0) up a goal by scoring in the opening period and Danyon made it a 2-0 lead by scoring off an assist by Matt Butch later in the period. Verdon scored in the second period off assists by John Schmitt and Brayden Murphy.
David Gawalis made 19 saves in the win.
Ronan Fry scored for the Bulldogs (0-1) in the third period off an assist by Jacen Doumas. Matthias Doumas finished with 16 saves.
