A wheelchair user who has conquered Mount Kilimanjaro and supported pop icon Demi Lovato on tour has opened up about why disabled people might not always want help. Canadian Spencer West, who lost both his legs at five years old due to a genetic condition, works as a motivational speaker and campaigner for disabled rights . ‌

He recently shared a video on Instagram, where he boasts 463,000 followers, spotlighting an encounter that occurred whilst he was boarding an aircraft, detailing how it demonstrates his perspective on his mobility. The clip was shared ahead of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which takes place today, December 3. ‌
