KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A deadly crash early Wednesday has prompted the closure of Florida’s Turnpike in Osceola County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The wreck happened around 3:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike at mile marker 248 near Kissimmee.

All southbound lanes are closed, and drivers are urged to seek an alternate route.

Some northbound lanes have been reopened.

Details about the crash have not been released.
