Tesco is distributing hundreds of quirky Christmas trees this year to inspire shoppers to embrace the "imperfect side of the festive season" at two Scottish stores in Glasgow and Dundee.
The trees will be available at selected branches for just one day – Saturday December 6 – with the supermarket encouraging those collecting them to make a contribution to food charities Fareshare and Trussell.
These trees, which wouldn't typically reach the shop floor due to flaws like irregularly positioned branches or tilting "ever-so-slightly to the side", are being given a fresh opportunity to fulfil their Christmas purpose, the retailer explained.
Nearly a quarter of Britons (24%) schedule the second weekend of December for erecting their Christmas tree, research commissioned by Tesco discove
