LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A Montgomery County High School basketball coach has resigned following allegations over potential KHSAA bylaw violations.
In a statement, Montgomery County School officials announced now-former Head Coach Jason Mays resigned on Sunday, Nov. 30. Assistant Coach Neil Terry will serve as acting head coach.
The alleged KHSAA bylaw violations are said to have occurred in 2024, according to the school district’s statement.
The Herald-Leader reports in an interview on the “FromCorner2Corner Podcast,” Mays admitted that he had “broken some rules,” saying he had crossed the line on some KHSAA bylaws to “help kids and families — not financially.”
