DOGE was all a farce

DOGE spent its time cutting agencies that actually were providing a needed service for Americans. DOGE cut the lowest-paid federal employees and also wiped out USAID and others. All these cuts did little to reduce government expenditures, based on the total budget.

Defense and intelligence agencies have the largest budgets and many of their employees are paid higher than civil agencies. The government pays for the development of new weapons and capabilities. The defense contractors then overcharge for their deployment. American weapons are the most expensive in the world, but not necessarily the best.
