COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A dry middle of the week won’t last the rest of the week. Rain returns Thursday and especially Friday. The weekend is also trending wetter, especially Saturday.

Clouds remained in place overnight longer than anticipated, but we expect them to gradually thin out Wednesday with at least a partly cloudy sky during the afternoon. Chilly with highs in the low 50s.

Mostly clear at first Wednesday night. Cold with some patchy fog and/or frost possible early Thursday. Lows will be in the low to mid 30s.

A quick increase in clouds Thursday. A chance of showers returns starting late morning and early afternoon. Highs in the low 50s in most spots, but the colder locations could stay in the upper 40s.
