Gov. Wes Moore was questioned Tuesday in Annapolis after another recent unfavorable state audit, which found that 42 state offices spent a combined $8.5 billion last year with little oversight of how that money was used.
Moore said that regardless of whether the problem was inherited or discovered after they took office, their responsibility is to fix it. “That’s what we do,” he said.
That special review follows a September audit, which found shortcomings in project funding, vendor payments and certification, and overtime policy enforcement at the State Highway Administration.
