KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - An overnight homicide on the city’s east side.

Someone shot and killed a man on a sidewalk - police are searching for a suspect.

It happened just a few blocks from Blue Valley Park off East 25th Street and Hardesty Avenue.

Police were called just before 1:30 a.m., Dec. 3.

Call notes indicated an individual was lying on the ground, unresponsive. As officers arrived, they found a man’s body with gunshot wounds.

Detectives are talking with witnesses, investigating physical evidence, and reviewing available surveillance footage.
