BUFFALO, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Buffalo Fire Department said it was called to a fire at a house belonging to a state lawmaker on Tuesday.

Officials said they responded to Buffalo-West Springs Highway.

The residence belongs to SC Representative Leon D. “Doug” Gilliam, who represents Union and Laurens Counties, according to the Buffalo fire chief.

An electrical short caused the fire, but no one was injured, officials said.

The fire chief said the fire was mostly contained as of 10:05 p.m.
