Isack Hadjar has a new home for the 2026 Formula 1 season. On Tuesday, Red Bull announced that Hadjar will be promoted from Racing Bulls, joining Max Verstappen as his teammate for the 2026 season. Hadjar, who earned his first podium finish in Zandvoort, is currently finishing up his rookie season.
The second Red Bull seat has become a significant weakness for the organization, as Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda failed to meet expectations during the 2025 Formula 1 campaign. Now, Hadjar will be tasked with replacing Tsunoda as Formula 1 moves towards new regulations next year.
It's unclear how well Red Bull will perform with new regulations on the way, but Hadjar has earned the second seat alongside Verstappen. The 21-year-old driver has shown his potential with Racing Bulls, and hopefully, Red Bull gives him time to develop into a race-winning driver in Formula 1.
