Missouri football lost its commitment from safety Tony Forney on the morning of early signing day, as the Georgia native opted to flip his pledge and sign with Pittsburgh on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
The Marietta, Georgia, safety had been expected to sign for the Tigers since July 4 and was one of three safeties who had given a verbal commitment to Eli Drinkwitz’s team in this cycle.
Missouri also targeted Forney’s defensive back teammate at Kell High, Jowell Combay, earlier in this cycle, but he committed and signed with Tennessee.
Now, both players are headed elsewhere.
Forney is the No. 900-ranked player in the Class of 2026 and is the No. 80-ranked safety. He is listed at 5 foot 11, 180 pounds. Need a news break? Check out the all new PLAY hub with puzzles, games and more!
