MEDINA, Ohio -- Warm Up Medina County Donation Day on Nov. 25 was an outstanding day for seven local agencies, who shared in the wealth of warm items for their clients.
A total of 1,747 knitted and crocheted items -- including hats, scarves, mittens and blankets -- were donated at Medina County District Library branches this year.
That number is 615 more than collected in 2024 -- and the greatest number since the Warm Up program was established in 2004.
Over the past 22 seasons, it’s estimated that 18,383 items have been collected and donated. That’s a lot of toasty heads, necks and fingers!
Warm Up Medina County is a grassroots group of needleworkers who knit and crochet all year to donate these items to the library.
The library staff then counts and organizes the items and fills the
