The weather outside is getting frightful, and so are some of our prospects at making the playoffs in our fantasy football leagues! Week 14 is here, which means the fantasy season has nearly reached its end, and every move you make now is crucial. Here are three kickers you should start and three you should sit in your fantasy league this week.
Start Em'
Jason Myers, Seattle Seahawks: Myers gets the ever-so-friendly indoor game this week as he will be facing the Falcons. He's also coming off a game that saw him go 4-for-4 on field goals, including converting two 50+ yarders. The Seahawks are not a top-10 team in total offense and average on third-down conversion rate, yet they still rank fourth in the NFL in points per game, which is a good mix for a proficient fantasy kicker.
Nick Folk, New York Jets: You may want to skip any plays in the showdown between the Dolphins and the Jets, but this seems like an interesting play. This game could likely provide plenty of opportunities for field goals between two middling teams, and Folk is a near 20-year veteran who is 22-for-23 this season on field goals, including 6-for-7 from beyond 50 yards, and is perfect on extra points.
Matt Prater, Buffalo Bills: The weather looks like it will be mostly calm in Buffalo this weekend, and the Bills will square off against an NFL-worst Bengals defense that will allow plenty of scoring opportunities for their opponents. Expect Prater to get at least a couple of field-goal attempts, but even if he doesn't, he'll probably make up for it with plenty of extra points.
Sit Em
Harrison Butker, Kansas City Chiefs: Butker looked incredible in Week 12, but went back to his typical inconsistent self he's been all season with a dud performance against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. He could bounce back this week, but the Texans' defense also might limit any scoring opportunities for a Chiefs team on a two-game losing streak.Joey Slye, Tennessee Titans: For the same reason, none of the Titans' skill players are a good play this week, and the Browns defense is a safe bet; stay away from Joey Slye. The Browns have one of the league's best defenses, and the Titans have one of the league's worst offenses. The Titans may get no scoring opportunities this weekend.
Zane Gonzales, Atlanta Falcons: Playing indoors in front of a home crowd might help Gonzales this week, but expect a stout Seahawks defense to slow down a Falcons offense that has scored 24 points in back-to-back weeks and bring them crashing back to reality. With that, there will be fewer opportunities for Gonzales to boost his fantasy points.
