STAMFORD, Connecticut (WABC) -- A Stamford, Connecticut neighborhood remained shutdown after a barricaded man shot at police before taking his own life.
Emergency responders were searching for possible explosives in the home Wednesday afternoon.
The situation began to unfold on Tuesday evening on Oaklawn Avenue. it was apparently involving eviction proceedings tied to an older couple living in the home.
Stamford Police responded to the scene with a moving truck to begin the eviction process and when they approached the house, they were shot at by the suspect.
No Stamford officers were injured during.
It appeared the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His identity has not yet been released.
The deceased suspect's wife wrote a heartfelt letter to the judge that was over
