Ohio State's coaching staff has suffered a major blow as offensive coordinator and receivers coach Brian Hartline is set to take over as the head coach at South Florida.
Hartline is regarded as one of the top recruiters in college football, especially when it comes to receivers, and he has pulled quite a bit of elite talent out of the Sunshine State. Now, it seems one of his commits got the news early.
Ohio State lost one of its top receiver commits on early signing day as four-star Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, a product of Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, flipped from the Buckeyes to nearby USC. Dixon-Wyatt, who ranks as the No. 135 player in the 2026 class and was Ohio State's second-highest rated receiver commit, had been committed to the Buckeyes since May.
Dixon-Wyatt officially signed with the Trojans on Wednesday, and he joins a recruiting class that currently ranks No. 1 in the nation. He becomes the second-highest ranked receiver in Lincoln Riley's class, behind only top-40 receiver Ethan Feaster.
The Buckeyes still hold a commitment from Dixon-Wyatt's high school teammate, five-star prospect Chris Henry Jr. Henry is currently the only composite five-star in Ohio State's 2026 class, and he ranks as the No. 10 player nationally.
