TAMPA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - The University of South Florida has hired Ohio State offensive coordinator Brian Hartline as it’s new head football coach, the school announced Wednesday.
Hartline will replace Alex Golesh, who resigned last week to take the head coaching job at Auburn University.
According to a news release from USF, Hartline has been an integral part of OSU’s run of dominance, with a 37-4 record over the last three season, including a national championship in 2024.
A former standout receiver for Ohio State, he spent seven seasons playing in the NFL, including six with the Miami Dolphins, before returning to his alma mater to coach.
