The Dallas Stars got bad news on the injury front on Wednesday.
Veteran centre Tyler Seguin is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering an ACL injury, head coach Glen Gulutzan told reporters on Wednesday.
The exact recovery timeline is still to be determined, leaving some hope for a potential playoff return, per Gulutzan.
Seguin went down less than two minutes into a game against the New York Rangers on Tuesday after he collided with Vladislav Gavrikov. The six-time all-star was ruled questionable to return by the Stars but he didn’t take another shift in what ended as a 3-2 overtime loss.
It is the second year in a row Seguin has suffered a long-term injury. He was out from early December through mid-April last season after undergoing hip surgery.
