What if I told you Tulane might play in the Sugar Bowl?
It’s not as crazy as it might sound. It could actually happen if a few things fall into place.
A clear, albeit serpentine, path exists for the Green Wave to play in the Superdome on Jan. 1. The odds are stacked against it. But it’s not far-fetched. Crazier things certainly have happened in college football.
There are essentially three pieces to the puzzle. Stick with me while we thread the needle:
Phase one involves the Green Wave landing the No. 11 seed in the College Football Playoff standings. This is a real possibility. It would require Tulane and Duke to win their American and Atlantic Coast conference championship games.
Beating North Texas on Friday night at Yulman Stadium won’t be easy for Tulane. The Mean Green are 11
