For the last several weeks, I’ve been hearing from our local food shelves as they are experiencing an increased need. I am personally aware of the good folks at the Lakes Area Food Shelf in Pequot, so it is reassuring for me to see our other area food shelves coming together and showcasing a collaborative approach. Currently, the Crow Wing County Food Access Coalition and 12 area organizations are working together for a common goal, ensuring people are fed through the Stock the Food Shelves Drive. My motto has always been “Stronger Together,” as we can accomplish much more for the people we serve by working together with a common goal to alleviate food insecurity in our county more than we could ever do on our own.
