Three Toronto residents have been arrested in a $1.3-million organized liquor-trafficking operation, Halton police said Wednesday.
Officers’ four-month investigation started in July, when Halton police, Toronto police and LCBO investigators started looking into a group they believed was purchasing and reselling liquor stolen from LCBO stores in the Toronto area.
Police identified several suspects linked to 10 organized theft groups who police say supplied the stolen liquor.
The liquor was then sold from the individual’s residence or delivered directly to buyers across the GTA, investigators said.
Officers from Halton and Toronto police searched a North York residence on Nov. 20, seizing 126 bottles of whiskey, three vehicles and $120,000 in cash.
