BROKEN BOW, Neb. (KSNB) - A Broken Bow man has died following an early Monday morning fire.
The Broken Bow Police Department responded to a structure fire near South Sixth Avenue and South N Street around 3:30 a.m.
According to a Broken Bow Police press release, once at the scene, an on-duty officer found the home engulfed in flames.
The officer immediately requested the Broken Bow Volunteer Fire Department and attempted to enter the home to check for any occupants.
Due to the intensity and advanced stage of the fire, the officer was unable to safely enter the structure.
The Broken Bow Volunteer Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire.
Responders found a deceased person inside. Police identified the victim as Jeffery Jones.
The fire is under investigation.
