OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Multiple sources including ESPN are reporting that Omaha native boxer Terence “Bud” Crawford has been stripped of his super middleweight title.

On Sept. 13, Crawford became the first male boxer to capture three unified division titles with a win against Mexico’s Canelo Alvarez. Omaha celebrated the champ with a parade and festivities after the history-making win.

Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, reports are coming in that Crawford will no longer have his WBC super-middleweight world title.

In a release, the World Boxing Council says it first put Crawford on a notice after he did not follow its rules and regulations.
