The Northshore Humane Society is still seeking foster homes for dogs that were displaced by a fire Tuesday in a kennel at the group's Covington area facility.
The animals were safely evacuated from the kennel, which had an electrical fire, the group said in a Facebook post Tuesday night.
"Thanks to the quick response and calm teamwork of our staff, every single animal and person is safe," the post said.
The group put out an urgent call for volunteer fosters, "and you showed up immediately," the Facebook post said.
But there is still a need for fosters, the group said.
Anyone interested in fostering a dog or volunteering at the society can call 985-892-7387 or visit the society's website .
The group said in its Facebook post that the fire illustrates the need for the Northshore Huma
