More than a few jobs that once were common have now vanished.
But what lost jobs do people actually miss? A survey of more than 3,000 people 45 or older across the country by resume.io found the list includes arcade attendants, film developers and switchboard operators, among others.
In North Dakota and dozens of other states, gas station attendants were most missed – "a clear sign that Americans are nostalgic for a time when customer service involved eye contact instead of a card reader," the survey says.
Some of North Dakota's neighbors also chose gas station attendants, including Minnesota and Montana.
