A woman was struck and killed by a CTA bus on Chicago’s South Side Wednesday morning, officials said.
According to CTA officials, a bus was stationary in the 7000 block of South South Shore Drive at approximately 7:55 a.m. Wednesday when a woman approached the bus on foot.
The woman slipped as the bus began to move forward, and she was struck, according to authorities.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported, the agency said.
An investigation remains underway Wednesday, according to Chicago police.
