Shedeur Sanders has another potential challenger with the Browns.
Shortly after Cleveland’s rookie quarterback earned his third start of the season , the Browns announced Wednesday morning that they designated QB Deshaun Watson for a return to practice.
The veteran signal-caller, 30, has yet to play this season after sustaining an Achilles injury in Week 7 of the 2024 season and then re-injuring it during the rehab process.
“His focus, my focus, is obviously getting him back to playing football, practicing football, which he hasn’t done in over a year,” Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said. “So, it’s a good next step for him.”
It is unclear if the 3-9 Browns would put Watson back on the field in a season that has long been lost, especially given his injury history.
