A lawyer who filed two wrongful death lawsuits over the fiery UPS cargo plane crash in Kentucky says the company put profits over safety by continuing to fly older planes.
Last month's crash killed 14 people after the MD-11 jet's engine detached during takeoff.
Federal officials grounded all MD-11s used by UPS, FedEx, and Western Global for inspection.
The lawsuits, filed by families of two victims on the ground in Louisville, also target General Electric, Boeing, and VT San Antonio Aerospace. UPS and GE said safety is a top priority as they assist the federal investigation.
