NEW YORK -- This year's Thanksgiving was a record-breaker for the NFL in terms of viewership, and the Packers' game against the Lions helped contribute to the historic day.
An average 47.7 million viewers tuned in to watch the Packers defeat the Lions. That set a new record for the most-watched early Thanksgiving game on record, beating last year's game between the Bears and Lions by 27%.
The late afternoon game on CBS between the Chiefs and Cowboys saw an average of 57.2 million viewers. That made it the most-watched NFL regular season game ever. The previous record-holder was the 2022 Thanksgiving Day game between the Giants and Cowboys, which brought in an average 42.1 million viewers.
