COLUMBIA, S.C. — The US Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) is offering a reward for information regarding an armed robbery of a Columbia area post office.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, at the Eau Claire Post Office at 4026 Lamar St., just off Monticello Road. The suspect can be seen in an image from surveillance video wearing a full-face black mask, large sunglasses, a dark jacket, and light blue gloves, carrying a black bag with red/yellow/orange striping and pointing a gun at a postal employee.

USPIS Inspector Breslin Steverson said the suspect got away with a few hundred dollars in cash and some postal service money orders.

The suspect was last seen on foot traveling southbound on Lamar Street.
