Georgia Tech trustees approved a new five-year contract for football coach Brent Key on Wednesday. The contract runs through the 2030 season.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The contract comes after the Yellow Jackets finished the regular season with a 9-3 record (6-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), earning them the No. 22 ranking in the College Football Playoff. They also spent 12 weeks in the Associated Press Top 25 poll this season.
“Coach Key has brought our storied football program back to where it belongs,” said Angel Cabrera, Georgia Tech president, in a news release. “He has delivered three-straight winning seasons and bowl appearances, reinvigorated the passion of our fan base, and given us moments we will not easily forget.
