Palm Bay City Council voted to censure first-term member Chandler Langevin last month after he came under fire for social media posts about Indian Americans, including one that said "deport every Indian immediately" and another saying "there's not a single Indian that cares about the United States."

Palm Bay officials say Langevin also used the city's letterhead to request a pardon for a man who pleaded guilty under the federal Anti-Riot Act without getting the city council's approval.

The censure resolution restricted Langevin's ability to speak during a certain portion of council meetings, required him to get the council's consensus before placing an item on the agenda, and removed him from any committees or boards.
